Width (Fits Opening): This measurement represents the opening size needed between existing masonry or supports. These dimensions already include the space required for the hinges and latch. You should not make any further allowances for these components.
-
Physical Height: This relates to the actual height of the gatemeasured from the underside of the frame to the top of the arch. It does not account for the space required for ground clearance.
Example Ordering Size
If the width between your walls or posts is 914mm, you must select a gate to "fit an opening of 914mm".
Do Metal Posts Need to Be Used?
You will need to install metal posts if there isn't any support for the hinges or latch fittings. Keep in mind that these accessories will take up additional space.
Example: A gate to fit an opening of 914mm combined with 2 x 50mm posts will require an overall space of 1014mm.
