& HelpWooden Side Gate Secures Garden Path in Warwickshire
Located on the outskirts of Nuneaton the owner of this 1930`s semi detached property was looking for a gate that would offer security and privacy to the path leading into their garden.
Client Brief
Located on the fringes of the countryside his homeowner had been carrying out some work in their garden when the existing metal gate became damaged beyond repair and felt that a replacement was the most sensible solution. Furthermore, as the garden had undergone some design changes in recent month`s they were looking for an option would afford them not only improved aesthetics but more privacy.
Our Proposal
Whilst some customers like the idea of a metal gate with a privacy screen this is not really something that we find to be aesthetically pleasing so never offer this as an option. In fact whenever a customer mentions additional privacy our first thoughts are always to recommend either a wooden or aluminium gate as these have a solid boarded design that cannot be seen through.
However, given the fact that the gate leads to the garden and the property is located on the verges of the countryside we felt that timber would likely be the best option (aluminium gates look better on modern urban properties) which the customer agreed with.
Following on from this decision we offered the customer several gate designs to choose from which are displayed within our online store. Having taken time to consider their options they selected the Cherbourne design.
Order Details
- 1 x Cherbourne Wooden Side Gate (the customer stained the gate to the desired finish prior to installation)
On this occasion we did not supply the wooden posts or the fittings for this project as the homeowner had already purchased these from the local timber merchants.
Customer Feedback
"Thank you for taking the time to help us select our new wooden gate. It has just been installed in the last few days and are really pleased with the results. We forgot to mention it would be outward opening so fitted the hinges to the front of the gate and we actually prefer the look of this than what was recommended."
What we think about this project?
We are always pleased to receive feedback from customers who have installed our products especially when they have followed our advice. Looking at the photograph we have been provided with we think you will agree it was the right decision on the part of the homeowner. The Cherbourne design has a slightly curved head which gives added visual appeal whilst the vertical tongue and groove boars offer lots of privacy to the back garden. The customer has also made a very nice job of staining the gates and the installation looks very professional.
