Useful Information about the Dorset 4ft High Arched Wooden Garden Gate
Fittings: The Dorset wooden gate is supplied without fittings as standard. If you need to order the optional fitting pack this can be added to the order by choosing the appropriate fixings from the menu above.
Posts: We recommend the use of timber posts when installing the gate. If you would like to add these to the order, please select the type you need from the options and accessories menu. Wall mounted posts should be fixed to masonry using appropriate size bolts. In ground posts should be set to a depth of between 600mm - 900mm and supported with concrete. Please be aware the gap between the posts will need to be 20mm wider than the physical width of the gate you order to allow for expansion of the timber.
Finish: Dorset gates are manufactured from untreated softwood. This means they need to be stained or painted before installation to prevent the onset or wood rot or decay.
Installation: We recommend hook and band hinges are used and should be fitted to the top and bottom horizontal bracing. For more information, please refer to the installation guide.
