Available to buy online in a range of sizes from 7ft – 12ft. They are handmade in the UK using Scandinavian Redwood and have a smooth planed finish ready to be stained or painted to the colour of your choice before installation. Suitable for residential driveway entrances, the Gloucester double gates features a 70mm thick framework, 3 x horizontal rails and diagonal bracing to prevent twisting and sagging of the timber. For additional privacy, the bottom section of each gate has tongue and groove boarded panels set flush with the framework. The top section then features open pales for a traditional appearance.

Useful Information About the Gloucester Wooden Driveway Gates

Width Dimensions: Wooden driveway gates are sold as a pair. The widths shown in the drop-down menu therefore refer to the physical width of both gates when placed side by side. This means each pair will comprise of the following:

• 7ft pair = 2 x 3ft 6”

• 8ft pair = 2 x 4ft

• 9ft pair = 2 x 4ft 6”

• 10ft pair = 2 x 5ft

• 11ft pair = 2 x 5ft 6”

• 12ft pair = 2 x 6ft

Height Dimensions: The physical height is measured from the underside of the gates to the highest point. This measurement does not make any allowance for ground clearance.

Fittings: Wooden driveway gates are supplied as standard without the necessary hinges, latch and drop bolt. If you need to add these items to your order you should select the relevant fitting pack from the options and accessories menu at the top of the page.

Posts: We recommend the use of wooden posts when installing the driveway gates. If these are required, please select the appropriate size post to suit your requirements from the menu above. For free standing installations, in ground posts will be required or where an existing wall or other support structure is in place the use of wall mounted posts is acceptable. In either instance, the opening between the posts will need to be 40mm wider than the physical width of the gates to allow sufficient room for the hinges, latch and to prevent binding of the timbers.

Finish: The Gloucester wooden driveway gates are manufactured from smooth planed untreated softwood and must therefore be treated with an appropriate stain or paint prior to becoming exposed to the elements. Failure to carry out this treatment will result in rot and decay.

Installation: We recommend the use of hook and band hinges when installing the gates. For inward opening layouts, the hinges should be fixed to the back of the gates using the top and bottom horizontal rails. For outward opening gates, the hinges should be mounted on the front face.
