Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): This measurement refers to the size of the gap needed between existing brickwork or posts. These dimensions already include the space required for the hinges and latch. You do not need to make any other adjustments.

• Height (once installed): This is measured from the ground to the top of the arch. A 50mm (2") allowance for ground clearance is incorporated into this measurement.

Example Ordering Size

If your existing brickwork opening is 1067mm, you must order a gate designed to "fit an opening of 1067mm".

Are Metal Posts Required?

You will need to install metal posts if there is no support for the hinges or latch. If required, please remember that these components will take up additional space.

Example: A gate to fit an opening of 1067mm combined with 2 x 50mm posts will require an overall width of 1167mm.

Important Information about the Marlborough Arched Metal Side Gate

Fittings: We include an easy-to-install tip latch and surface-mounted adjustable hinges with each gate purchased. The mounting screws are not included in the fitting pack.

Metal Posts: Where required, we recommend using metal posts to achieve the best support. During installation, ensure these parts are buried at the appropriate depth and supported by concrete.

Installation: You must only attach the hinges to existing masonry provided it is sturdy enough to sustain the weight of the gate. For all other details about fitting, please refer to the installation manual.

Width: The "fits opening" size indicated in the menu corresponds to the gap size needed for the gate. It already includes the space necessary for the hinges and latch. It does not refer to the physical width of the gate. If you need additional clarification, please read our guide explaining how to select the correct size.

Painting: Before installation, all surfaces must be treated with external paint to combat rust and corrosion (applicable to the primed opton only). Alternatively, we can also offer a low-maintenance electro-galvanized (zinc plated) and black powder-coated paint treatment for an additional charge.
