Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): This measurement relates to the width of the opening required between walls or posts. We already include the space taken up by the hinges and latch, so you don't need to make any additional calculations for these components.

• Height (once installed): This includes a ground clearance allowance of 50mm (2").

Example Ordering Size

If the width of your entrance or the current gap between posts is 914mm, you must select a gate constructed to fit an opening of 914mm.

Are Metal Posts Needed?

You will need to install metal posts if there is no support for the hinges or latch. If these items are required, you must understand that you will need additional space.

Example: If you select a gate to fit an opening of 914mm and 2 x 100mm metal posts, the overall space required will be 1114mm.

Important Information about the Royale Grange 6ft 6" High Wrought Iron Style Metal Side Gate

Fittings: We include the latch and a pair of surface-mounted hinges. You must buy the mounting screws separately.

Metal Posts: It is important that you use the correct post type. "In-ground posts" must be set to the proper depth and will need to be stabilised with concrete. Wall mounted posts must be securely bolted to the wall.

Installation: Only attach the hinges and latch to existing brickwork or posts if you are confident it will provide enough support. If you need any additional fitting information, please read the installation instructions.

Width: The "fits opening" dimensions indicated in the menu are the gap size you will need between walls or posts. This measurement already includes the space required for the hinges and latch. It does not refer to the physical width of the gate. Read our guide detailing how to choose the right size if you do not know what this means.

Painting: If you order the primed option, you will need to paint the gate before installation to prevent rust and corrosion. Alternatively, if you would prefer to upgrade to a low-maintenance electro-galvanised (zinc-plated) black powder-coated paint finish please select this from the optons and accessories menu.
