Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): This dimension refers to the opening size required between brickwork, posts or support structures. The space needed for the hinges and latch is included in the "fits opening" measurement so you do not need to make any additional adjustments for these items.

• Height (once installed): The measurement represents the distance from the ground to the top of the arch and incorporates a 50mm allowance (2") for ground clearance.

Example Ordering Size

If the width of your entrance or the current gap between posts is 1067mm, you must select a gate constructed to fit an opening of 1067mm.

Are Metal Posts Needed?

If you are installing the gate in a location without existing supports for the hinges and latch, it will be necessary to add metal posts. Should these be required, you must note that you will need additional space.

Example: If you choose a gate to "fit an opening of 1067mm" and include 2 x 100mm metal posts, the overall space required will be 1267mm.

Important Information about the Royale Premier 6ft 6" High Metal Side Gate

Fittings: The gate is supplied with a fitting pack which includes a latch mechanism and a pair of surface-mounted hinges. We dont include the screws required to secure these items to your brickwork or posts.

Metal Posts: "In-ground" posts should be set at an appropriate depth and secured with concrete.

Installation: If you are mounting the hinges onto a wall, you need to ensure that the structure it is attached to can support its weight. If this is not possible, you should seek additional advice from a professional.

Width: The menu "fits opening" sizes refer to the opening the gate will fit into, which already includes the space needed for hinges and latch. It does not indicate the physical width of the framework. If you do not understand this , refer to our guide detailing how to select the right size.

Painting: You must paint your gate before installation to protect it against rust and corrosion (applicable to the primed option only). Alternatively, you can upgrade to a zinc-plated and black powder-coated finish for an additional charge.
