Handmade in the UK, this timeless design features a 20mm x 8mm framework, 10mm infill bars, and 10mm x 3mm wrought iron-style scrollwork, combining durability with visual appeal. Ideal for residential properties, the gate provides a cost-effective way to add a physical security barrier to garden entrances, front pathways, or similar locations. Suitable for DIY installation on various surfaces, including masonry, timber, or metal posts, it is available with either a black primed undercoat (ready to be painted before installation) or a durable zinc-plated (electro-galvanised) and black powder-coated finish for added protection and convenience.

• Width (Fits Opening): These measurements correspond to the gap between your brickwork or posts and already incorporate the space required for the hinges and latch. You do not need to make further adjustments for these components.

• Height (once installed): This is the distance from the ground to the top of the horizontal frame. It includes an allowance 50mm (2 inches) for ground clearance. The scrollwork above the top rail is not included into this measurement.

Example Ordering Size

If the gate is to be installed in an opening measuring 3ft, you must order the option "fits opening 3ft".

Do You Need Metal Posts?

You will need to install metal posts if you don't have existing pillars, posts, or a wall to attach the hinges and latch. Remember that these components take up more space, so you must consider this when placing your order.

Example: The total space required for a gate to "fit an opening" of 3ft and 2 x 2" posts is 3ft 4"

Fittings: This product is supplied with hinges and latch components, but does not include the screws required to fasten these components to your support structure.

Metal Posts: It is important to to select the right type for your required application. Please note that "in ground" posts need to be fixed in the ground with concrete.

Installation: Ensure that your structure can provide the necessary strength to support the hinges. When fitting the gates, you should only use fasteners appropriate for your application.

Width: Please note that the "fits opening" dimension already includes the space needed for the hinges and latch. It does not denote the actual width of the framework of the gate. Check out our "How to choose" guide if you want further clarification.

Painting: If you order the gate with a black primed undercoat, to avoid rust and oxidation, you must paint all surfaces before installation. Alternatively, you can upgrade to the low-maintenance electro-galvanized (zinc-plated) and black powder-coated paint.
