Bordeaux 4ft High Wooden Driveway Gates blend the charm and character of natural timber with the starker lines of steel to create an exquisite overall appearance. Available to buy online in sizes ranging between 7ft – 12ft, these stunning double wooden gates are specifically designed with strength and security in mind, making them perfect for any residential driveway. Handmade in the UK from untreated slow grown Scandinavian Redwood, the Bordeaux design has a 70mm thick framework, horizontal rails and diagonal bracing for additional support and rigidity. The bottom portion of the gates are clad with vertical tongue, and groove boards set flush with the frame, whilst the open section at the top has 16mm metal infill bars primed black to create a contrasting appearance making them an excellent choice for both modern and traditional properties alike.

Useful Information About the 4ft High Bordeaux Double Wooden Gates

Width Dimensions: The Bordeaux wooden gates are supplied as a pair. The widths shown in the menu above refer to the actual width of both gates when placed next to each other. To avoid confusion, this means that each pair comprises of the following:

• 8ft pair = 2 x 4ft

• 9ft pair = 2 x 4ft 6”

• 10ft pair = 2 x 5ft

• 11ft pair = 2 x 5ft 6”

• 12ft pair = 2 x 6ft

Height Dimensions: No allowance has been made for the ground clearances that will be required. The height is measured from the underside of the gates to the highest point.

Fittings: To add the relevant fitting pack to your order please choose the appropriate size hinges from the options and accessories menu at the top of the page.

Posts: When fitting the gates we recommend the use of wooden posts. These can be either wall mounted or may be set into the ground using concrete. For optimal results the gap formed between the posts should be 40mm larger than the size of the gates you order. This will then provide you with the space needed for the hinges and will prevent them binding against the posts during operation.

Finish: The Bordeaux design is constructed using smooth planed Scandinavian Redwood. The timber has not been treated in anyway therefore it is essential that the gates are stained or painted prior to installation.

Installation: The use of hook and band hinges are recommended when installing the gates. To provide the best support, we recommend mounting the hinges to the top and bottom horizontal rails. You can find out more general information about fitting by referring to our installation guide.
