Handmade in the UK from high-quality solid steel components, it is available to buy online in a range of sizes, features a 20mm x 8mm flat bar welded framework, 10mm round infill bars and ornate wrought iron-style scrolls (10mm x 3mm) for improved aesthetic appeal. The gate includes surface-mounted adjustable hinges and a latch mechanism, making it easy to install onto timber, metal posts or existing masonry structures. Available in a choice of affordable black primed undercoat ( ready to be painted before installation) or a pre-finished low-maintenance zinc-plated and black powder-coated finish for an additional charge.

• Width (Fits Opening): These dimensions represent the distance between your existing posts or walls. They already account for the space required for the hinges and latch, so no additional calculations are needed.

• Height (once installed): This is the measurement from ground level to the top of the horizontal framework, including a 50mm (2") clearance gap at the bottom of the gate. The scrollwork above the top horizontal rail is not included in this dimension.

Example Ordering Size

If the space between brickwork measures 3ft 3", you must select the gate that will fit an opening of 3ft 3".

Do You Need Metal Posts?

If there is no existing structure to attach the hinges or latch, you will need to add metal posts. If required, please remember that these components will require more space.

Example: If you order a gate that fits an opening of 3ft 3" and utilise 2 x 2" posts, the total space required will become 3ft 7".

Fittings: This product is supplied with the hinges and the latch components as standard. We do not provide the screws required for installation.

Metal Posts: These must be the correct size and height. If using "in-ground" posts, they will need to be buried in the ground and strengthened with concrete.

Installation: Before you start installation, make sure the structure you are mounting the fittings on can provide sufficient strength. During installation, always follow the instructions provided and only use appropriate fixings to secure the hinges and latch.

Width: The measurements marked "fits opening" indicate the required size of the aperture or gap. These dimensions already account for the space needed for the hinges and latch. They do not represent the physical width of the gate. For clarification, please read our guidelines about choosing the correct size.

Painting: When ordering the Clifton metal garden gate with a factory applied black undercoat,.you must paint all surfaces before installation.  Alternatively, you can upgrade to the low-maintenance electro-galvanized (zinc-plated) and black powder-coated paint.
