• 20mm x 8mm metal framework, 10mm infill bars, and ornate scrolls measuring 10mm x 3mm.

• Available in either a black primed undercoat (ready for finishing in the colour of your choice before installation) or a durable zinc-plated and black powder-coated finish.

• Supplied with easy-to-install adjustable hinges and a universal latch fitting (can be secured with a padlock).

• Suitable for hanging on either the left or right-hand side of the opening.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): These dimensions relate to the width of the opening between existing walls or posts. The measurements take into account the space needed for the hinges and latch. Further adjustments are not required.

• Height (once installed): This includes a ground clearance allowance of 50mm (2") and is measured from the floor to the top horizontal frame. It does not include the scrollwork above the top horizontal rail.

Example Ordering Size

If the width between your brickwork or supports is 3ft 6", you must select a gate designed to fit a 3ft 6" opening.

Are Metal Post Required?

You will have to add metal posts if there is no support available for the hinges or latch. When ordering these items, please remember that they will take up additional space.

Example: A gate to fit an opening of 3ft 6" combined with 2 x 2" posts will require an overall width of 3ft 10".

Important Information about the 6ft High Clifton Wrought Iron Style Side Gate 

Fittings: The gate includes surface-mounted hinges and a latch fitting. The screws needed to install the hinge brackets and latch plate are not included.

Metal Posts: Only use metal posts that are the correct size and capable of delivering the required level of support. When installing these components, ensure they are sunk to the proper depth and supported by concrete.

Installation: You should only attach the hinges to any masonry buildings (or other existing supports) if the structure can handle the weight of the gate. For any other queries about installation, please see the installation instructions.

Width: The "fits opening" measurements include the space necessary for the hinges and latch. It does not refer to the actual width of the gate. If you dont understand this, we recommend you read the page detailing how to select the correct size.

Painting: To protect the steel from rust and corrosion, you must paint all exposed surfaces before installation (appliable to primed gates only). Alternatively, you can upgrade to the low-maintenance zinc plated (electro galvanised) and black powder-coated paint that is supplied ready to install without any further painting required.
