Useful Information about the Devon Arched 3ft High Wooden Gate

Fittings: The 3ft high Devon wooden gate is not supplied with the hinges and latch as standard. If required, an optional fitting pack can be added to the order using the drop-down menu above.

Posts: We recommend the use of wooden posts when installing the gate. These items can be added to the order using the menu above. Where posts are to be mounted to a wall, appropriate fixings should be used. For in ground installations, we recommend posts be set to a depth of between 600mm - 900mm using concrete. When selecting or installing posts, please be aware the gap between the posts will need to be 20mm wider than the physical width of the gate you order to allow for expansion of the timber.

Finish: The Devon wooden gate is not treated with any kind a preservative. It is therefore essential the timber is stained or painted prior to installation (or exposure to the elements) to prevent the onset or wood rot or decay.

Installation: We recommend the use of hook and band hinges. For optimum support they should be fitted to the top and bottom horizontal bracing. For more information, please refer to our gate installation guide.
