Useful Information About the Devon 5ft High Arched Wooden Gate

Fittings: The 5ft high Devon design is not supplied with the hinges or latch. If you would like to purchase these items, please select the appropriate fitting pack from the options and accessories menu above.

Posts: When installing the gate, we recommend using wooden posts (available to order above). If you are wall mounting the posts then appropriate fixings should be used (not included). Freestanding posts need to be set in concrete to a depth of between 600mm - 900mm. Please be aware that in both instances, the gap formed between the posts should be roughly 20mm wider than the physical width of the gate to allow for expansion of the timber.

Finish: The Devon design is constructed from untreated softwood. To ensure the maximum lifespan of the timber all exposed surfaces should be painted or stained prior to installation to prevent the onset or wood rot or decay.

Installation: We recommend the use of hook and band type hinges when installing this gate. They should be mounted to the top and bottom horizontal bracing for best levels of support. For more information, refer to our installation guide.
