• The gates feature a 70mm x 70mm mortise and tenon jointed frame coupled with 95mm x 14mm tongue and groove timber boards.

• Gates are suitable for automation (some modifications may be required).

• Hinges and accessories are available to order separately.

Useful Information About the Essex Arched (Low Centre) Wooden Gates

Width Dimensions: The measurements shown in the menu above correspond to the physical width of both gates when placed side by side. This means that each pair is made up as follows:

• 7ft pair = 2 x 3ft 6”

• 8ft pair = 2 x 4ft

• 9ft pair = 2 x 4ft 6”

• 10ft pair = 2 x 5ft

• 11ft pair = 2 x 5ft 6”

• 12ft pair = 2 x 6ft

Height Dimension: The physical height “in the centre” is measured from the bottom of the gates to the highest point. The “height at the sides” is taken from the bottom of the gates to the highest point at the sides. When installing this product, additional space will need to be allowed for ground clearance.

Fittings: The gates are sold without hinges, lath, or drop bolts. If you need to add these items to your order, please choose the appropriate fitting pack from the options and accessories menu above.

Posts: We recommend hanging the gates onto wooden posts. Wall-mounted and in-ground posts are an acceptable option; however, please be aware that the gap formed between the posts should be 40mm wider than the width of the gates you order. This spacing will allow the optimal spacing required for the hinges and latch.

Finish: The Essex design are manufactured using untreated smooth planed Scandinavian softwood. To achieve the required protection against rot and decay, you must stain or paint all exposed timber surfaces before installation.

Installation: Hook and band hinges should be used when installing the gates. These must be of a suitable size to fully support the weight of each gate. For more general installation advice, please click here.
