Quorn Wooden Driveway Gates are handmade in the UK from low maintenance pressure treated softwood for superior protection against rotting and decay. Thanks to the timeless design, the gates are an excellent choice for modern and traditional properties. Constructed with 70mm thick mortise and tenon jointed frames, 3 x horizontal rails and diagonal bracing fitted to the back face to ensure they remain strong, rigid, and secure throughout their lifespan. The open pale allows light and wind to pass unhindered, which is well suited to exposed locations. For additional privacy, the bottom portion is fitted with tongue and groove boards set flush within the frame, making them one of our very best-selling double gate designs. Available to buy online in various sizes, they measure 900mm in height.

Useful Information About the Quorn Wooden Gates

Width Dimensions: The Quorn wooden driveway gates are sold as a pair. The width dimensions displayed in the drop-down box at the top of the page relates to the physical width of both gates (when placed side by side). Each pair comprises of the following:

• 2400mm pair = 2 x 1200mm

• 2700mm pair = 2 x 1350mm

• 3000mm pair = 2 x 1500mm

• 3300mm pair = 2 x 1650mm

• 3600mm pair = 2 x 1800mm

Height Dimensions: The height is measured from the underside of the gates to the highest point and does not include any allowance for ground clearance. When installing the product, we recommend leaving a 50mm (2”) gap at the bottom however this is only a guide and may vary depending on your driveway layout.

Fittings: If you need to order a fitting pack containing the hinges, latch, and drop-bolt, please choose the appropriate option from the menu above.

Posts: For ease of installation, we recommend the use of wooden posts. If you are fitting the gates between existing brick pillars the use of wall mounted post is an acceptable solution however for freestanding installation the use of in ground posts will be required. In each instance, the gap formed between the posts should be 40mm wider than the physical width of the gates. This will then provide the optimal amount of space for the hinges and allow for expansion and contraction of the timber during different times of the year.

Finish: The Quorn wooden driveway gates are manufactured using pressure treated softwood. This means they do not need to be stained or painted prior to installation. Please do note that the pressure treatment process will result in the timber having a green hue to it upon delivery. Over time this will weather down to a more natural appearance.

Installation: The use of hook and band hinges is recommended when installing the wooden gates. For the best level of support, the hinges should be mounted to the top and bottom horizontal rails. For more information please look at our general installation guide.
