The Quorn Wooden Garden Gate is constructed using smooth planed pressure-treated Scandinavian Redwood for a long-lasting and virtually maintenance-free installation. It is handcrafted in a traditional design and has a thick mortise and tenon jointed framework with open pales to the top section, tongue and groove boards in the lower portion, three horizontal rails and diagonal bracing on the rear to ensure maximum levels of strength, rigidity and durability. Useful Information About the Quorn Wooden Gate

Fittings: Unless ordered with the gate, the Quorn design is supplied without the hinges or latch as standard. If the optional fitting pack is required, please select from the menu above.

Posts: We recommend the gate is installed using wooden posts (these can be added to the order using the drop-down menu above). Wall mounted posts should be attached using suitable bolts (not supplied). For in ground installations, each post should be set into the ground with concrete to an approximate depth of 600mm - 900mm. Please note the gap between the posts should be 20mm wider than the physical width of the gate to allow for expansion of the timber.

Finish: The Quorn gate is pressure treated which results in the timber having a temporary green tint to it. This will weather down over time once exposed to the elements. If you wish to stain or paint the gate, we suggest that this is not carried out until 6-8 weeks after installation to allow sufficient time for the wood to weather down.

Installation: We recommend the use of hook and band type hinges. They should be fitted to the top and bottom horizontal brace for maximum support. For more details please refer to our gate installation guide.
