Ordering Sizes

• Width: The "Fits Opening" measurement listed in the menu above represents the exact space required between your existing brickwork or posts. This measurement already accounts for the space needed for the hinges and latch, so no further adjustments are needed. For example, if the gap you currently have is 9ft, you should select the gate option that states "Fits Opening 9ft."

• Height: This is the measurement from the underside of the framework to the highest point. We have not included any allowance for the ground clearance necessary when you install the gates. 

Do You Require Metal Posts? 

If existing brickwork (or other appropriate support structure) is unavailable, you must utilise metal posts. When selecting these items, it is essential to note that you will require additional space.

Example: The Regent double gates that "fit an opening" of 9ft combined with 2 x 2" posts will require a total overall space of 9ft 4".

Useful Information about the Regent 3ft High Wrought Iron Style Metal Driveway Gates

Fittings: We include easy to install surface-mounted hinges (non adjustable), a latch fitting, and drop bolt as standard. Fixings for attaching the hinge brackets to brickwork or posts are not supplied.

Posts: If you need to install metal posts, these should be of the appropriate size to support the gates and must be set into the ground using concrete.

Installation: Any existing support structure must be capable of taking the weight of the gates. All products are sold on a supply only basis and you should only use fixings appropriate for the mounting surface.. For more information refer to the installation guide.

Width: The "fits opening" measurement is the size of the gap required between walls of posts (click here for clarification). It does not refer to the physical width of the gates.
