Ordering Sizes

• Width: This refers to the opening width you will need between existing brickwork or posts. Within the "fits opening" measurement, we have already factored in the space taken up by the hinges and latch therefore you should not make any further allowances for these items. ​For clarity, this means that if your current opening is 8ft, you should order the gates to "fit opening 8ft". 

• Height: This is the distance from the bottom of the frame to the highest point. This measurement does not include any ground clearance necessary when installing. 

Do you Need to Install Metal Posts?

If no existing brickwork (or other appropriate support structure) is present, you must use metal posts. It is essential to note that you will require additional space in these instances.

Example: The Classic double gates that "fit an opening" of 8ft combined with 2 x 2" posts will require a total overall space of 8ft 4".

Useful Information

Fittings: We include surface mounted hinges, the latch and drop bolt as standard. Screws for mounting the hinge brackets are not included.

Posts: When installing metal posts, these should be set to a depth appropriate to suit your ground conditions and should be secured in place with concrete.

Installation: Gates should only be fixed to a structure capable of providing the required level of support. Appropriate fixings should always be used. All products are sold on a supply only basis and we accept no responsibility for installation.

Width: This is the size of the opening required (see above information for clarification). It does not refer to the physical width of the gates.
