The Royale Talisman Metal Garden Gate combines traditional design with exceptional durability. Handmade in the UK, it provides a secure barrier for pedestrian entrances around your home or garden. Available in a range of widths to suit most residential needs, it features heavy-duty solid steel components, including a 40mm x 30mm flat bar hanging stile, a 40mm x 10mm closing stile, and 16mm diameter infill bars for strength and stability. The elegant design includes wrought iron-style circles and two rows of fleur-de-lys finials, adding a decorative touch to any outdoor location. The gate is available with either a black primer undercoat (ready for painting before installation) or a low-maintenance zinc-plated and black powder-coated finish ready to install without further treatment. It also comes with surface-mounted adjustable hinges and a latch mechanism that can be securely fastened with a padlock, ensuring ease of installation and enhanced security.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits opening): The dimensions show the required width of the gap between your existing posts or walls. The space needed for the latch and hinge components is already been included in the measurements. You do not need to make any additional provisions for these items.

• Height (once installed): This is the measurement from the ground to the top of the horizontal frame. This dimension includes an allowance for the ground clearance of 50mm (2 inches). It does, however, exclude the finials that are mounted above the top of the top horizontal rail.

Example Ordering Size

When placing an order, select the "fits opening 1067mm" width option from the drop-down menu if the spacing between your brickwork or supports is 1067mm.

Do You Need Metal Posts?

If an existing support structure is unavailable, you must include metal posts to support the hinges and latch. If you use these components, ensure adequate space is available.

Example: A total span of 1267mm is needed when ordering a gate that "fits an opening of 1067mm" combined with 2 x 100mm posts.

Fittings: This product includes a receiver plate, a latch mechanism, and two surface-mounted adjustable hinges.

Metal Posts: If selecting in ground posts, please be aware they must be anchored into the ground with concrete and must be set level.

Installation: If the hinges are attached to masonry, be sure it can support the extra weight. 

Width: The gap size for the gate to fit is specified by the "fits opening" dimension. We already include the space needed for the latch and hinge hardware within these dimensions. These measurements do not represent the actual width of the gate. If you need additional information, please refer to our measuring guides.

Painting: The Royale Talisman metal gate must be painted before installation to prevent corrosion of the steel surfaces (applicable to the primed option only). For an additional charge, you can upgrade to an electro-galvanised (zinc-plated) and black powder-coated paint finish.
