• Width (Fits Opening): This is the size of the opening you will need between your masonry or existing posts. We have already included the space necessary for the hinges and latch within these measurements. You do not make additional allowances for these components.

• Physical Height: This measurement is from the underside of the framework to the top of the scrollwork. It does not include any allowance for ground clearance.

Example Ordering Size

If the distance between brick walls or the existing posts is 762mm, you must order a gate that will "fit an opening of 762mm."

Do You Need Metal Posts?

If you are installing the gate in a location lacking existing masonry, you will need to install metal posts. Please note that these components will require extra space.

Example: If you buy a gate that "fits an opening of 762mm" and 2 x 50mm posts, the overall required space is 862mm.

Fittings: The hinges and latch are included with this product as standard. We do not provide you with the bolts or screws required for installation.

Metal Posts: You must ensure that your posts are the correct size and shape to provide the necessary support. After placing them in the ground, reinforce the posts with concrete.

Installation: Make sure the structure to which you are connecting the fittings will deliver adequate support before you begin the installation process. Always follow the installation instructions provided with the product.

Width: The size of the aperture/gap required is denoted by the dimensions marked "fits opening". These measurements already include the space needed for the hinges and latch. It does relate to the physical width of the gate. Read our tips for choosing the proper size if you need clarification.

Painting: The Stirling Metal Garden Gate is zinc-plated and finished with black powder-coated paint. This eliminates the need for additional painting before installation and helps prevent the formation of rust and corrosion.
