• Width (Fits Opening): This measurement refers to the opening width you will need for the gate to fit correctly. The dimensions displayed already include the space required for the hinges and latch, so no additional calculations need to be made. 

• Height: This is the height of the gate after installation, including a 50mm (2") gap for ground clearance at the bottom.

Example Ordering Size

You must select the option "fits opening 762mm" from the drop-down menu when the space between two brick walls measures 762mm.

Do You Need to Install Metal Posts?

Metal posts must be installed when fitting the gate in a location without a suitable fixing point for the hinges and latch. Please be aware that installing metal posts will require additional space.

Example: A gate to fit an aperture of 762mm integrated with 2 x 50mm posts will need a total space of 862mm.

Fittings: A latch mechanism, two surface-mounted adjustable hinges, and a receiver plate are included. Appropriate fixing screws are not included.

Metal Posts: It is important to choose posts that are the correct height and size for your installation. For in-ground posts, concrete is required to securely anchor them in place.

Installation: Before starting the installation, ensure the structure to which you are attaching the fittings can give adequate support. We also recommend that you always follow the installation instructions that arrived with the product.

Width: The size of the aperture / gap is indicated by the "fits opening" dimensons. These measurements already account for the space required for the hinges and latch. They do not denote the actual size of the gate. If this is unclear, please refer to our guide showing how to choose the proper size.

Painting: The black primed (undercoat) gate requires painting to protect the steel from rust and corrosion. Alternatively, you can upgrade to a pre-finished, electro-galvanized (zinc-plated) and black powder-coated paint for enhanced durability for an additional charge.
