Useful Information About the Windsor 1.8m High Wooden Gates

Physical Width: The sizes are shown in the drop-down menu and refer to the total width of both gates. To avoid any confusion, this means each pair is made up of the following:

• 2400mm pair = 2 x 1200mm

• 2700mm pair = 2 x 1350mm

• 3000mm pair = 2 x 1500mm

• 3300mm pair = 2 x 1650mm

• 3600mm pair = 2 x 1800mm

Physical Height: This is measured from the underside of the gates to their highest point. When fitting the gates, you will need to allow space for ground clearance. 2” (50mm) is sufficient; however, this may vary according to your driveway layout.

Fittings: The gates do not include the hinges, latch or drop-bolt as standard. If these are required, you can add them to your order by selecting the appropriate fitting pack from the options and accessories menu.

Posts: We always recommend wooden posts be used when installing the gates. Wall-mounted posts are the most common option if you install the gates between an existing structure (such as brickwork). For all other installation types, you will require the use of in-ground posts. When setting the posts, please note that the opening created should be 40mm wider than the actual width of the gates you purchase, as this will provide the required room for the hinges and latch.

Finish: The timber used to manufacture the Windsor is pressure treated softwood. Staining or painting is not necessary before installation. This process will result in the timber having a green tint; however, this will weather down over time to give a more natural appearance.

Installation: You should only use suitable hook and band-type hinges when fitting the gates. You must securely attach the hinges to the horizontal top and bottom rails for maximum support. For more details, refer to the installation guide.
