Fits Opening - This refers to the opening into which the railings will fit. We have already included the space needed for the fittings. No additional calculations are required for these components.
-
Height - This represents the height of the railings once installed (allowing for a 50mm gap at the bottom for ground clearance). The top scrolls are not included in this measurement.
Do You Need Metal Posts to Provide Support?
If you cannot install the railings between existing brick pillars, you must use bolt-down metal posts. The additional space that these components need must be taken into account.

Important Details About the Clifton Wrought Iron Style Metal Railings
Fittings: Your railing comes with a fitting kit with four surface-mounted brackets, nuts and bolts. You will need to provide the appropriate screws for your masonry or posts.
Metal Posts: If you plan to use metal posts, ensure the wall is wide enough to accommodate the bolt-down plate.
Width: The "fits opening" dimension is the term used to define the size of the aperture you will need to have available for the product to fit. It does not represent the physical width of your product. If you're still unsure, we encourage using our measuring guide to understand this dimension and be sure it is right for you.
Painting: Before installation, you must paint all steel surfaces to prevent corrosion. However, if this is inconvenient, we can upgrade your order to low-maintenance electro-galvanized (zinc-plated) and black powder-coated paint treatments. If you would like to take advantage of this option, please get in touch with us before ordering.
