• Width (Fits Opening): To select the size you require, please use the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Please note that the dimensions indicate the size of the opening that the gates will fit. These measurements already factor in the space required for the hinge and latch portions. Additional calculations for these components are not necessary.

• Height (once installed): This dimension includes a provision of 50mm for ground clearance. It is measured vertically, starting from the ground and ending at the top of the horizontal frame. The height does not include the finials welded to the top of the frame. 

Example Ordering Size

When the gap between your brickwork, posts, or other existing support structure is 3200mm, you must choose the width option "fits opening 3200mm" from the drop-down menu.

Do You Need to Include Metal Posts?

If you need to install metal posts, remember that these elements will take up more room.

Example: If you select the size option "fits opening 3200mm" and incorporate 2 x 100mm metal posts, the overall space requirement will become 3400mm.

Fittings: Our included hardware makes assembling your new gates a breeze. We provide you with a latch fitting, surface-mounted adjustable hinges, and an in-ground drop bolt with each pair of gates. We do not provide you with the screws required for installation.

Posts: If you use in-ground posts, they must be set in concrete to ensure stability. Use the appropriate amount of concrete, and do not fill it with rocks or other materials that may compromise the post's support.

Installation: You should only connect the hinges to any existing brickwork if it can withstand the extra weight of the gates. For additional details, please refer to the installation instructions.

Width: The "fits opening" dimensions listed in the menu indicate the gap size needed between your posts or walls. It does not show the product's physical width. Please read our article on "how to choose the right size" if you are unsure what size to get.

Painting: The Windsor Wrought Iron Style Estate Gates are delivered to you with a black primed undercoat applied. To prevent the formation of rust and corrosion, all surfaces must be painted before installation.
