Useful Information About the Hampton 1.8m High Wooden Gates

Width Dimensions: The measurement corresponds to the actual width of both gates. To avoid any confusion when placing your order, this means that each pair comprises the following:

• 2400mm pair = 2 x 1200mm

• 2700mm pair = 2 x 1350mm

• 3000mm pair = 2 x 1500mm

• 3300mm pair = 2 x 1650mm

• 3600mm pair = 2 x 1800mm

Height Dimension: This measurement is from the underside of the gates to the highest point. When installing, you will need to allow around 2” (50mm) for ground clearance, so please make sure this is available before you place your order.

Fittings: You can add a fitting pack to your order by selecting the appropriate hinges from the options and accessories menu above.

Posts: We recommend using wooden posts to fit the gates. Wall-mounted posts are an acceptable option if you are installing between existing walls or brickwork. For freestanding installations, you will need to use in-ground posts. In either instance, the gap created should be 40mm wider than the width of the gates you order, as this will ensure adequate room for the hinges and latch.

Finish: The Hampton wooden estate gates are manufactured from smooth planed pressure treated softwood. This low maintenance finish removes the need to paint or stain the gates before installation. Please be aware that the pressure treatment process will result in the timber having a green tint; however, this will weather down over time to a more natural appearance.

Installation: We only recommend using hook and band hinges when fitting the gates. These must be of the appropriate size to provide the required level of support. For more Information and advice, please refer to our installation guide.
