Hampton Wooden Garden Gate | 1.2m High

The Hampton Wooden Garden Gate is an excellent choice for any outdoor location when an imposing design will benefit security and restricted access. The gate is handmade in the UK with low maintenance and smooth planed pressure-treated softwood construction. It features a 70mm thick mortise and tenon jointed framework for strength and security. Thanks to 3 x horizontal rails and diagonal bracing on the back face, rigidity is greatly increased. For an enhanced appearance, the Hampton design features a vertical clad tongue and groove-boarded panel in the bottom section, whilst the open top section includes metal bars. Spear-shaped finials are also included in the top rail as a timeless finish detail.

Useful Information About the Hampton 1.2m High Wooden Garden Gate

Fittings: Supplied without the hinges or latch as standard. If these items are required, please add them to the order using the options and accessories menu shown above.

Posts: The gate should be installed to wooden posts which can be purchased above using the drop-down menu. Where wall mounted posts are required, these should be attached to existing masonry using appropriate fixings (not included). For installations where the posts are freestanding, they should be set to a depth of around 600mm – 900mm and supported using concrete. In either instance, to allow for expansion of the timber and to ensure sufficient space is available for the hinges and latch, the gap formed between the posts should be 20mm wider than the width of the gate you order.

Finish: The Hampton range is manufactured from pressure treated timber. This process will result in the wood having a temporary green tint to it. Over time this will weather down and start to fade once left exposed to the elements. If you are planning on painting or staining the gate, you will need to allow sufficient time for this to occur before applying any finish.
